AUCTION of the Property of the Late Dr Jimmy Farrugia

Dr Jimmy Farrugia [1922 – 2006] was a highly respected Maltese medical doctor, politician, art collector and philanthropist born in Tarxien. After earning his medical degree from the University of Malta in 1946, he worked as a general practitioner and dedicated much of his life to religious and community services. His distinguished political career included being elected to Parliament in 1976 and 1981, serving as the Speaker of the House of Representatives from 1987 to 1988, and holding the role of Acting President of the Republic of Malta on many occasions throughout the 1990s.
