Prospective Vendors

Since the first auction in 1971, auctions are held 6 times a year at Belgravia and include single items, collections or house contents. Items are examined and vetted by the auctioneer for inclusion.

Fine and Decorative Arts are held March, June, October and December: For content of these auctions click content.

The auction for Collectors Items are held in January and July. For content of these auctions click Collectors Auction contents.

Goods are normally accepted from 3 months ahead of an auction. To see when the next auctions are due, click Auctions.

‘Entries’ shown in Auctions will provide details and indicate which auctions are currently being prepared. If you are a first time vendor please consider asking for the reading package available.

To place lots in our auctions please phone for an appointment.

Vendors are asked to bring their lots to Belgravia Auction Gallery  for a free valuation by the auctioneer. Please avail yourself of current digital media to send images by email [email protected] or WhatsApp +356 99496 988 to the auctioneer for an initial assessment.
Should an on site inspection be necessary, this is without charge, and strictly at the auctioneers discretion.

Should you wish to bring in your objects to our auction gallery in St Julians, please phone ahead to make sure you will be advised by the auctioneer.

The Auctioneer’s fee for sold items is 11.8% (10% + vat @ 18% of fees). There is no charge for unsold lots.

Inventories, Valuations and Divisions

Inventories and Valuations are carried out upon request.

Numbering / Descriptions / periodic Dating & Valuing are  done on site.

A visit by the valuer will give the client a clearer  idea of costs and time frame for the job in consideration.

Divisions and Allocation of portions can be drawn proportionally from inventory.

A Comprehensive ‘Guidlines’ document is available for clients, upon request.
The ‘Guidlines’ are an information pack to help clients in the step-by-step process, as undertaken by this firm.

Insurance Valuations

If you require an Insurance Company to cover Works Of Art you own or are handling, it would be necessary to have a professional document prepared by a Valuer.

Your Insurer will request this document.

This service is provided against an hourly rate and can be agreed at the initial appointment stage.

Absentee bids

If you are unable to attend an auction to bid in person for a lot you may have examined during viewing, you may instruct bidding to be done on your behalf by using our absentee bid service.

Absentee bids allow customers to leave bids on lots that they have an interest in. The bids are executed as low as in-room and/or other instruction bids allow.

For online bids please click leave a bid online

It is also possible to book a telephone bid; Having completed the appropriate form, you are called by our staff during the auction of the lot itself. To book a telephone bid, please make sure you contact us early, and not during the auction session. Phone Bids are accepted at the auctioneer’s discretion and the auctioneer reserves the right to refuse single or multiple Phone Bids. Please also be advised that a maximum of 4 phone lines are available for any single lot.

House Contents

Auctions are held regularly in houses. When necessary or requested, contents are auctioned from the homes they are found in. Many factors are considered for this, and are usually discussed after a first visit by the auctioneer.

Preparation time varies according to the size of the house and its contents. If you are considering such an auction, please ask for a ‘House Auction Guidelines’ reading pack, which gives a step by step account of how such a project is executed.

Entries

Single items and groups of items are accepted for inclusion in our auctions. Items can be consigned to our auction gallery where an inspection and valuation are done prior to inclusion in our auctions. Regular weekday office hours run from 8.30 to 12.00 and 13.30 to 17.00.

Home Visits

It is often sensible for the auctioneer to examine and advise the prospective vendor on site, prior to moving items for auction. Advise during home visits prior to consignment to aution is free of charge.

Removals and Deliveries

Removals and Deliveries are organised whenever necessary or requested.
